A group of us had the pleasure of spending a nice long
relaxing weekend in the house! We found that Captain's Three
on Coco Plum Blvd. (the street that brings you into the
housing area) has the best shrimp. We bought three pounds
and ate it all in one sitting, we also bought two Keylime
Pies at Captain's Three and they only lasted two days!
We found the Wood Spoon served a great fresh breakfast,
it's out on MM53-52 on Marathon Key.
We spent the day at Bahia Honda State Park Snorkeling.
The park makes it easy to rent the gear, chairs, plenty of
suntan lotion, and changing rooms. You just set yourself up
on the little beach and relax for the day.
We had to go back twice to the Keys Fisheries Market
& Marina on MM48-49 for their Lobster Ruben and cold
drinks. They are located at the end of 35th St on the gulf
in Marathon.
After four days of sun, sun and more sun we took some
time to visit the Bougainvillea House Gallery, a group of
local artists working together. You can find them on MM53.5
- 12420 Overseas Highway in Marathon.
If we weren't down at Key West watching the sunset we
were at the Island Tiki Bar on the gulf watching the sunset
with all the locals. Bob, a loyal customer, told us that
their hamburgers were the best and he was so right!
We all look forward to another visit, this time we will
find a brand new pool at the house. We have visions of
sipping fruity drinks pool side!
