Auto Tags Volusia County Office (904) 254-4610 New residents must register their vehicles and obtain Florida license tags within 10 days of establishing legal residency here. Proof of Florida no-fault insurance, previous out-of-state title, auto identification number and odometer reading are required.

You must register your vehicle(s) and get Florida Auto Tags before getting your driver's license. New residents are required to pass only a visual examination if they have a valid license from another state, and no moving violations within the last three years. Test appointments are recommended. A new driver's license costs $20 and is valid for six years. Drivers must be at least 16 years old to qualify for a driver's license, and 15 years old to obtain a restricted learner's permit. Columbia Medical Center-Daytona is a 214-bed hospital and rated in the top ten Columbia facilities in Florida in patient satisfaction surveys. The Daytona Beach facility is a JCAHO accredited general acute care hospital. Volusia County Florida sales tax is 6%. Florida has no state personal income tax, no state tax on personal gifts and no inheritance tax. Real estate taxes are levied by the cities, counties, school districts, and in some cases, special taxing districts. Application forms are available at all Volusia County Libraries, all local Chambers of Commerce, and most banks and financial institutions. By Air- Daytona Beach International Airport (DBIA) in North Central Floridas gateway linking the Worlds Mots Famous Beach with easy access to all Florida cities and attractions. By Land- Whether the destination is the largest shopping mall in the area, Daytona International Speedway, public schools, or one of the areas many fine restaurants; getting around town is easy and convenient with VOTRAN, Volusia Countys public transit system. VOTRAN provides a variety of transportation services which include: Scheduled service throughout the Greater Daytona Beach Area (Monday-Saturday 6 a.m.- 7:30 p.m.) Daytona Beach Sunday Service (6:30 a.m. 7 p.m.) West Volusia (Monday- Saturday 6 a.m. 7:30 p.m.) Southeast Volusia Area (Monday Saturday 6a.m. 7:30 p.m.) North-South Connector (Monday-Saturday, hourly trips connecting Daytona Beach and the Southeast Volusia Area.)
